Since 1949, the SPD parliamentary group has been an institution of parliamentary democracy and at the same time a central power factor within German social democracy. For more than seven decades of parliamentary work, it has shaped politics in state and society. This anthology examines the significance of the SPD parliamentary group for the history of German politics and democracy. Its thematically diverse contributions create a scientific basis and offer suggestions in a hitherto neglected field of research.
